Tempurung Seaside Lodge is a rustic yet lovely little lodge. Tastefully built with a blend of both modern and traditional architecture, it has a colonial look and is perched on top of a small hill with a commanding view overlooking the South China Sea.

Tucked away in a village near the sea in the South West of Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, the lodge is about 90 minutes away from the Kota Kinabalu International airport. Secluded yet easily accessible, it is nature's perfect hideaway. The friendliness of the local people, slow pace of life, almost year round sunny tropical climate combined with miles of deserted white sandy beach makes Tempurung Seaside Lodge is must visit destination. Its shimmering azure seas and spectacular sunset makes "Dreams and Reality Converged". Just relax and enjoy the cozy, comfortable and casual atmosphere.

All rooms are with attached bathrooms complete with hot showers and facing the sea. A small and cozy restaurant offers delicious authentic home cooked meals served by friendly and courteous staff. Sample the taste of Borneo tranquility and hospitality.

How to get there.

There are various options. One can either take the taxi or the bus. If you are taking the taxi, it might cost you anything between RM100.00 to RM200.00 depending on your bargaining skill. If you are taking the bus, it will cost you RM15.00 per person and this gets you to the junction to Kuala Penyu. From there the lodge can arrange for you to be picked up and transfered to the lodge at an additional RM20.00 per person. The bus terminal is in front of the Kota Kinabalu High Court Building. Otherwise, the office can arrange for a private transfer by a tour van at RM80.00 per person per way (minimum 2 people). Please feel free to mail or call the office for more information.

Optional Tours/Activities 

The Klias River Cruise tour can be organized from the lodge.

This tour gives guest the opportunity to search for the Proboscismonkeys which are found only in Borneo. The tour commence at 4.00 pm, therefore ideally guest should depart from the lodge at 3.45 pm latest and you should be at the river jetty at 4.15 pm. After being served with coffee and tea with traditional Malay cookies and cakes, you will commence the river cruise at 4.45 pm. The river also offers the opportunity to see other wildlife such as the macaques, silver leaf monkeys, varieties of birds, monitor lizards, crocodiles, bats and as dusk sets in nature display of lights, the fireflies flickering along the river banks.Once back at the jetty, you will be served with a traditional malay dinner, thereafter back to the lodge.

Rates: RM160.00 per person which includes 2 way transfers, welcoming drinks, life jacket, river cruise and dinner.

Rafting at The Padas River Tour can also be conducted from this lodge. Guest will be transferred to Kimanis and thereafter to Pangi Tenom where you will be given a safety breifing before you commence your white water rafting adventure.
