Sabah, Malaysian Borneo is located in the heart of South East Asia with direct flights from major cities around the region such as Brunei, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei and Kaoshiung, Manila, Seoul, Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, Xiamen, Guangzhou and Shanghai in China. The State capital is Kota Kinabalu and is connected to the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur by more than 70 flights. This sector is served by Malaysian Airlines System and Air Asia.

Sabah has a diverse indigenous group of people, 32 in all with a potpourri of cultures and a 5000 years history.

Sabah has 10,000 rooms in world class resorts, medium range hotels to bed and breakfast lodges and remote beach and island resorts. Rich in natural heritage, its parks and protected areas are guarded by the Sabah Parks Department.
Sabah, well known to the world for its oldest rainforest, exotic islands and beach resorts and lodges is a haven for nature and adventure lovers or just for the rest and relax leisure holiday seekers.

Mount Kinabalu is Malaysia’s First World Heritage Site and the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre are both undoubtly the flagships of Sabah’s nature and wildlife attractions. There are of course other attractions as good if not better such as the Klias Wetland, the Lower Kinabatangan Floodplains, Danum Valley, Turtle Islands Park, Tabin Wildlife Reserve and Maliau Basin which are home to varieties of wildlife such as the elephants, proboscis monkeys, hornbills, bats, crocodiles and list goes on and on.

Idyllic and exotic islands with white pristine beaches and alluring seas dots most of Sabah’s coastline. Notable among these are the clusters of islands group under the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Sabah has world class dive sites such as Sipadan, Langkayan, Mabul, Kapalai and Layang Layang. These dive sites offers stunning underwater images of assorted marine life.

Culturally, the Rungus and Kadazans provide much of Sabah’s historical past. A visit to the Rungus Long House and the Monsopiad Cultural Village will testify to this.

Sabah is a safe place as the Malaysian Government recognizes the sensitivity of the issue, thus have taken serious safety measures.
