
THE KINABALU NATIONAL PARK
Kinabalu National Park is Malaysia's first "World Heritage" site. It is about 90 kilometers away from the city of Kota Kinabalu. Rising up majestically at 4,101 meters (and growing), Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain in between Papau New Guinea and the Hilmalayas. Home to varieties of flora and fauna, the Kinabalu National Park play host to thousands of visitors each year. These visitors comprises of people from all walks of life, students, professionals, adventure seekers, leisure groups, serious nature lovers and conservationist from all over the world. One can either visit the park just to enjoy the splendor of nature or for the more adventurous, an attempt to conquer the mountain itself. Either one is a visit or an attempt to cherish.
You will be pick up from city hotel sometime in the morning between 0630Hrs and 0700Hrs and driven through scenic mountain road and rustic villages. After 2 hours drive, you will arrive atthe foothills of Mount Kinabalu where the park headquarters is located. At the park, enjoy the guided nature walk and thereafter listen to the very informative mountain garden talk.
You will have lunch at one of the many restaurants around the park.
After a hefty meal, proceed to Poring Hotsprings. Here, immersed yourself in one of the many sulphuric wells known to heal some skin ailments. If you are up to it, trek some 20 minutes and "walk the canopy", a walkway suspended some 60 meters up. Spectacular sights of the rainforest can be seen. At approximately 1500Hrs, transfer back to city hotel in Kota Kinabalu.
